Assalamu alaikum / greetings, no offense to the British Royal Family or anyone else who’s interested in this sorta thing, but I did not watch the wedding, and I actually made it a point not to. I just didn’t like the hype surrounding it, I mean, it seemed no matter where you turned (on TV anyway), you’d hear something about the “royal wedding”, I mean, even The Weather Channel was mentioning it.
And to put it simply, I just didn’t care. And I also kinda felt sorry for the now newly-married couple, I mean, I’m just glad it wasn’t me *smile*, because with all the planning and rehearsing and everything else going into putting this kind of thing together, I’d be completely stressed. And I kept also thinking about how these poor people aren’t going to get any privacy from, well, probably pretty much from now on. And I thought to myself how obscurity/just being a “normal” everyday person really isn’t so bad after all.
I really do wish them much success and happiness, but I feel the same about any new marriage. I just kinda feel sorry for them too, because the media’s just going to get worse, everyone’s going to want to know everything about them, what they did, what they ate, etc., on a daily basis, even worse probably than it was before, and that would just drive me crazy. I’m sure or at least I hope they are used to it by now, but this is why I’d not want to be some kinda famous person, just because of the privacy that you give up, and the just having a normal life.
